There's really no better way to give yourself a great energy boost than to look at what you've done and delivered! Behind every piece of work here is a new relationship that was formed, a forward thrust on the learning curve and and a
good dose of "we helped do that!"
To help give a more empathetic view to the broad and faceless category of "homelessness", the Sheltersuit team https://sheltersuit.com/ have been capturing the individual stories of the people they meet on the street. Who are they? How did they become homeless? What's it like surviving on the streets? These stories, images and insights have been crafted into a fantastically engaging blog called "Unsheltered moments".
Much of the story is captured on the go via quick notes, voice recordings and quotes from the subjects. This is all collated into a first draft of the story and then shared with the P/21 copywriting team. They work with this and help the Sheltersuit team finesse the copy into a concise and empathetic piece of writing to go along with the images.
Several P/21's have helped on these amazing pieces and have worked directly with the photographers and design teams at Sheltersuit in the Netherlands, The US and South Africa.
The LIV model is long term cluster foster care, where children have a sense of belonging in a supportive community. LIV place's orphaned and vulnerable children in a family environment where all their needs are met by taking a holistic approach to physical, emotional and spiritual healing. To help tell their story, raise funding and drive social media.
Because the village is so extensive and has so many aspects, this was a big photography project that multiple P/21's put their hands up for. Their job was to spend several days on the village capturing various images as required in the shot list from the LIV team. These images are to be used in social media, annual reports and many more applications.
This project brought multiple P/21's together from all over South Africa who had never met each other before and had not been to the village before. It was an amazing experience for all of them and the team at LIV were hugely appreciative of all the work done.
